Industrial activities significant for more than a century have nearly disappeared, while new commercial activities and services appeared and became more general. New functions were given to the empty and left factory buildings and workshops (after some reconstruction). Mainly in the result of the planned and reasonable city planning, branches and affiliates of leading companies of the world settled and run business there, as well as new and modern shopping-centres of famous international chains were built there, too.

We are continuing the renewal and reconstruction of the district’s architectural character. The new houses, residential districts, housing projects, application of modern architectural and latest technical solutions are appreciated by the professional circles and architectural experts as well as the inhabitants of Budapest. So the structural economic transformation manifested in the townscape and resulted considerable increase in standards.
