Home-care and social catering services are organised in four Social Welfare Centres. The Clubs for the Elderly are designed for social gathering and substantial recreation. In the enlarged Social Welfare Home, professional social workers care for people who are not able to take care ofthemselves. Our local government together with the Angyalföld Social Association opened a network of shops and runs it for social purposes in order to contribute to the customer’s savings. With the introduction of our system called “Annuity for a flat – flat for advance-savings” we intended to ease the maintenance of the flats of the elderly without any family support. The rate of registered unemployment in our district has decreased to 1% recently. The local government has already begun to clear the public institutions and roads from obstacles so as to ease the everyday life and transport of the handicapped.
